Great Minds Think Differently: Strategies for Helping all ELLs Thrive in the Heterogeneous Classroom

Overview | Workshop Format | Sessions | Resource Guide | Outcomes

This resource was compiled to provide International High School teachers and other teachers of English language learners with concrete strategies for addressing the needs of all students and for leveraging the benefits that students who are heterogeneous in terms of language, learning styled, experience, academic proficiency, and interests bring to their classroom.  Created to accompany our workshop module of the same name, this workshop is structured around 14 different concrete strategies for supporting teachers in differentiating their curriculum to challenge all students while providing various points of access to curriculum and instruction.  Each chapter is devoted to one strategy for which there is an overview and multiple curriculum samples showing the implementation of that strategy in actual International High School classrooms of different disciplines.
